2018 Thunderbird – First Look! – Is this what Ford Motor Company has planned for the 12th generation Thunderbird? This iconic nameplate last ended production in 2005 after a four-year production run. Only 68,095 T-Birds were built for the 2002-2005 model years, making it one of the lowest production runs since the now classic 1955-1957 Thunderbird. The 2002 Thunderbird was the first two-seat convertible T-Bird offered since the famous 1957. The 2018 model retains the Thunderbird’s trademark ‘egg crate’ grille and two-seat roadster design of the original. The new version is rumored to include a 600 horsepower supercharged engine and will offer an optional six-speed manual transmission which will make it a formidable competitor to Chevy’s Corvette. It will also feature a retractable hardtop, digital instrument display and 8-way adjustable leather sport seats. We’re still waiting for official confirmation that Ford will build this exciting new Thunderbird and we’ll pass the news on to you as soon as we hear it.
